Front Crankshaft Oil Seal

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Remove the crankshaft sprocket and the Crankshaft Position Sensor.
2. Remove the crankshaft sensing blade, the crankshaft spacer, and the key.
3. To remove the crankshaft front oil seal, cut out a piece in the lip of the crankshaft oil seal.
4. Cover the tip of a screwdriver with a cloth and put it on the cutout in the oil seal to pry the oil seal off.

CAUTION
Be careful not to damage the crankshaft and Oil Pump case.

To Install:

1. Use a special tool (MD998717) to knock the oil seal into the Oil Pump case.

2. Install the key, the crankshaft spacer, and the crankshaft sensing blade.
3. Install the Crankshaft Position Sensor and the crankshaft sprocket.
