Make alignment marks on the radiator hose and the hose clamp before disconnecting the lower radiator hose.
Disconnect the water outlet fitting.
Remove the thermostat.
To Install:
Install the thermostat so that the jiggle valve is facing straight up and is lined up with the mark on the thermostat case as illustrated.
CAUTION
Be certain that no oil is adhering to the thermostat’s rubber ring. Make sure not to scratch or fold the rubber ring during installation.
Connect the water outlet fitting. Tighten to 12-14 ft-lb (17-20 Nm).
Connect the lower radiator hose using the alignment marks you made during removal. Insert the hose right up to the projection on the water outlet or inlet fitting.
