Fuel Tank

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

NOTE: If replacing only the fuel gauge unit assembly, you can work from the service holes underneath the rear seat cushion without having to remove the fuel tank.

Fuel tank

  1. Safely and correctly drain the fuel.
  2. Properly reduce the pressure of the fuel line and hose.
  3. Disconnect the parking brake cable connection.
  4. Remove the fuel tank.
  5. Disconnect the harness connector.
  6. Disconnect the filler hose, the vapor hoses, the fuel return hose, and the high-pressure fuel hose.
  7. Remove the fuel pump and gauge assembly.
  8. Remove the fuel cut valve assembly.
  9. Remove the leveling valve.
  10. Remove the fuel filler cap and fuel filler neck assembly.
  11. Remove the separator assembly.
  12. Remove the fuel check valve assembly.
  13. Disconnect the fuel pipe.
  14. Remove the fuel filter assembly.

To Install:

Fuel tank

  1. Install the fuel filter assembly.
  2. Connect the fuel pipe.
  3. Install the fuel check valve assembly.
  4. Install the separator assembly.
  5. Install the fuel filler cap and fuel filler neck assembly.
  6. Install the leveling valve.
  7. Install the fuel cut valve assembly.
  8. Install the fuel pump and gauge assembly.
  9. Connect the filler hose, the vapor hoses, the fuel return hose, and the high-pressure fuel hose.
  10. Connect the harness connector.
  11. Install the fuel tank.
  12. Connect the parking brake cable connection.
  13. Safely and properly refill with fuel.
  14. Check for any fuel leaks.
