Throttle Body

Removal & Installation

W/O Traction Control

To Remove:

Throttle body (w/o traction control)

  1. Safely and properly drain the coolant.
  2. Disconnect the connector for the accelerator cable.
  3. Disconnect the air intake hose, heater hose, and the vacuum hose.
  4. Disconnect the connectors for the Throttle Position Sensor and the idle speed control motor.
  5. Remove the throttle body.
  6. Remove the gasket.

To Install:

Throttle body (w/o traction control)

  1. Install a new gasket with the throttle body. Be sure to install the gasket as shown so the projection is in the correct position.

    CAUTION
    If the gasket is installed incorrectly, poor idling may result.

  2. Connect the connectors for the idle speed control motor and the Throttle Position Sensor.
  3. Connect the air intake hose, heater hose, and the vacuum hose.
  4. Connect the connector for the accelerator cable.
  5. Safely and correctly refill the coolant.
W/Traction Control

To Remove:

Throttle body (w/ traction control)

  1. Safely and properly drain the coolant.
  2. Disconnect the connector for the accelerator cable.
  3. Disconnect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector.
  4. Disconnect the air intake hose, heater hose, and vacuum hose.
  5. Disconnect the connector for the Throttle Position Sensor.
  6. Disconnect the connector for the idle speed control motor connector.
  7. Remove the throttle body.
  8. Remove the gasket.

To Install:

Throttle body (w/ traction control)

  1. Install a new gasket with the throttle body. Be sure to install the gasket as shown so the projection is in the correct position.

  3. Connect the connector for the Throttle Position Sensor.
  4. Connect the air intake hose, heater hose, and vacuum hose.
  5. Connect the accelerator pedal position sensor connector.
  6. Connect the connector for the accelerator cable.
  7. Safely and correctly refill the coolant.
