Fuel Supply Rail & Fuel Injector

Removal & Installation

2.4L Engine

To Remove:

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
2. Partially drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the air cleaner.
4. Remove the throttle body.
5. Disconnect the PCV hose.
6. Disconnect the ignition coil and fuel injectors.
7. Disconnect the ignition failure sensor connector.
8. Disconnect the manifold differential pressure sensor connector.
9. Disconnect the fuel lines at the fuel rail and regulator.
10. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
11. Remove the fuel supply rail and injectors.
12. Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.

To Install:

1. Apply clean engine oil to new fuel injector O-rings.
2. Install the fuel injectors in the fuel rail.
3. Install the fuel rail.
4. Connect the vacuum hose.
5. Connect the fuel lines at the fuel rail and regulator.
6. Connect the manifold differential pressure sensor connector.
7. Connect the ignition failure sensor connector.
8. Connect the ignition coil and fuel injectors.
9. Connect the PCV hose.
10. Install the throttle body.
11. Install the air cleaner.
12. Refill the engine coolant.
13. Check for leaks.

3.0L Engine

To Remove:

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
2. Partially drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the intake plenum.
4. Remove the fuel supply rail and injectors.

To Install:

1. Apply clean engine oil to new fuel injector O-rings.
2. Install the fuel injectors in the fuel rail.
3. Install the fuel rail.
4. Install the intake plenum.
5. Refill the engine coolant.
6. Check for leaks.
