Connect a scan tool to the vehicle to measure the transmission fluid temperature.
Run the engine or drive the vehicle until the transmission fluid temperature reaches 158 - 176°F (70 - 80°C).
Park the vehicle on a level surface.
Move the selector lever through all gear positions and then move the selector lever to the "N" position.
Remove the dipstick and check the condition of the transmission fluid.
NOTE: If the fluid smells burnt, it means that the transmission fluid has been contaminated by fine particles from the bushings and friction materials. A transaxle overhaul and cooler line flushing may be necessary.
Make sure the fluid level is at the "HOT" mark on the dipstick. Add DIAMOND ATF SP III transmission fluid as needed until the level reaches the "HOT" mark. Do not add more fluid then necessary.
Install the dipstick when correct level has been reached.
