Transmission Range Sensor

Adjustment

To Adjust:

  1. Shift the transmission selector lever to the "N" position.
  2. Loosen the selector cable coupling nut at the manual control lever on the transaxle.
  3. Make sure the manual control lever is in the neutral position.
  4. Loosen the two range sensor mounting bolts and turn the sensor body so the hole in the end of the manual control lever and the hole (view A) on the sensor body are aligned.

    NOTE: The transmission range switch body can be aligned by inserting a 5-mm diameter steel bar into the end hole of the manual control lever and the flange hole of the transmission range switch body.

  5. Tighten the sensor body mounting bolts to 96 in-lbs (11 Nm).
  6. Gently push the transaxle control cable in the direction of the arrow, until the cable is taut and then tighten the adjusting nut to 102 in-lbs (12 Nm).
  7. Use a scan tool such as MB991958 to verify that each position of the manual control lever matches each position of the selector lever.
