Power Steering Gear
Removal & Installation
To Remove:
Remove the clockspring.
Drain the power steering fluid.
Remove the center member.
Remove the front exhaust pipe.
Remove the stabilizer bar.
Remove the rear roll stopper and bracket.
Remove the steering cover assembly.
Disconnect the steering shaft from the steering gear.
If equipped with the 2.4L, remove the stay.
Disconnect the outer tie rod ends from the knuckles.
Disconnect the fluid lines.
Remove the mounting bolts and clamps.
Remove the steering gear.
To Install:
Steering gear removal/installation (2.4L)
Steering gear removal/installation (3.0L)
Install the steering gear.
Connect the fluid lines.
Connect the tie rod ends to the knuckles.
If equipped with the 2.4L, install the stay.
Connect the steering shaft from the steering gear.
Install the steering cover assembly.
Install the rear roll stopper and bracket.
Install the stabilizer bar.
Install the exhaust pipe.
Install the center member.
Install the clockspring.
