WARNING
Depower the air bag system before working on the steering column.
CAUTION
Do not release the tilt lever until the steering column shaft assembly has been installed. Make sure the tilt lever is in the lock position, and install the steering shaft assembly. Tighten the four bolts in the order shown by hand, and then tighten them to 100 in-lbs (12 Nm) in the order shown.
