Heater Unit & Heater Core

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Remove the strut tower brace if equipped.
2. Remove the air intake duct.
3. Recover the refrigerant.
4. Disconnect the refrigerant pipes and remove the expansion valve.
5. Disconnect the heater hoses.
6. Remove the clip and thermistor sensor.
7. Remove the evaporator.
8. Remove the automatic compressor controller.
9. Drain the engine coolant.
10. Remove the audio unit, heater control assembly and instrument panel.
11. Remove the console and instrument panel center reinforcement.
12. Remove both left and right floor ducts.
13. Remove the heater unit.
14. Remove the heater core.

To Install:

1. Install the heater core.
2. Install the heater unit.
3. Install both left and right floor ducts.
4. Install the console and instrument panel center reinforcement.
5. Install the automatic compressor controller.
6. Install the evaporator.
7. Install the thermistor sensor and clip.
8. Connect the heater hoses.
9. Connect the refrigerant pipes and install the expansion valve.
10. Install the air intake duct.
11. Install the strut tower brace if equipped.
12. Refill the cooling system. Make sure the water shut valve is open as shown.
13. Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Check for leaks.
