Removal & Installation

3.0L Engine

To Remove:

1. Remove the air cleaner.
2. Remove the distributor connector.
3. Remove the spark plug cable connector.
4. Remove the distributor and the intake manifold plenum.
5. Remove the spark plug cable and the spark plug.

To Install:

1. Install the spark plug and the spark plug cable.
2. Install the intake manifold plenum.
3. When installing the distributor, do the following:
   • Step 1: Set the number 1 cylinder to Top Dead Compression Center.
   • Step 2: Line up the mating marks on the distributor housing and coupling, then install the distributor onto the engine.
   • Step 3: Make sure the ignition timing is at the standard value.
4. Install the spark plug cable connector.
5. Install the distributor connector.
