To Remove:
CAUTION
Cap all open refrigerant lines to prevent moisture and dirt from entering. The compressor oil and receiver absorb moisture quickly.
- Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system.
- Remove the drive belt.
- Disconnect and cap the refrigerant lines from the compressor.
- Remove the compressor.

To Install:
- Drain and measure the amount of oil in the old compressor.
NOTE: The new compressor is shipped with refrigerant oil. The compressor for the 2.0L engine contains 4.7 oz (140 ml) of refrigerant oil.
- Drain oil from the new compressor so the amount remaining equals the amount drained from the old compressor.
- Install the new compressor on the engine.
- Connect the refrigerant lines to the compressor. Apply refrigerant oil to the new o-rings.
- Install the drive belt.
- Evacuate and charge the A/C system.

NOTE: The new compressor is shipped with refrigerant oil. The compressor for the 2.0L engine contains 4.7 oz (140 ml) of oil and the compressor for the 2.4L engine contains 4.0 oz (120 ml) of oil.
- Drain oil from the new compressor so the amount remaining equals the amount drained from the old compressor.
- Install the new compressor on the engine.
- Connect the refrigerant lines to the compressor. Apply refrigerant oil to the new o-rings.
- Install the drive belt.
- Evacuate and charge the A/C system.
