2.0L Engine

Power Steering & A/C Compressor Belt

Apply a force of 22 lbs (98 N) to the belt where shown and measure the deflection of the belt. Make sure the specs are as follows:

• When checked: .44 - .59 in (11.3 – 15.0 mm)
• During adjustment: .47 - .55 in (12.0 – 14.0 mm)
• During replacement: .33 - .43 in (8.5 – 10.8 mm)

Generator Belt

Apply a force of 22 lbs (98 N) to the belt where shown and measure the deflection of the belt. Make sure the specs are as follows:

• When checked: .38 - .50 in (7 – 12.7 mm)
• During adjustment: .41 - .47 in (10.3 – 11.8 mm)
• During replacement: .26 - .34 in (6.7 – 8.5 mm)

2.0L Turbo & 2.4L Engine

NOTE: The 2.4L engine utilizes a spring loaded auto-tensioner. Drive belt adjustment is not necessary.
