Radiator & Cooling Fan
Removal & Installation
Lancer Evolution
To Remove:
Radiator and fan removal/installation (Lancer Evolution)
Remove the under cover.
Drain the coolant.
Remove the battery and tray.
Remove the air cleaner.
Remove the air duct.
Remove the reserve tank and bracket.
Mark the position of the clamps and disconnect the upper and lower hoses from the radiator.
Remove the upper insulators.
Remove the air pipe B mounting bolt.
Remove the radiator assembly.
Remove the fan and shroud from the radiator.
To Install:
Install the fan and shroud from the radiator.
Install the radiator assembly.
Install the air pipe B mounting bolt.
Install the upper insulators.
Connect the upper and lower hoses to the radiator. Install the clamps in the original positions.
Install the reserve tank and bracket.
Install the air duct.
Install the air cleaner.
Install the battery and tray.
Install the under cover.
Refill the cooling system.
Except Lancer Evolution
To Remove:
NOTE:
It is not necessary to remove the radiator for cooling fan service.
Radiator and fan removal/installation (except Lancer Evolution)
Drain the coolant.
Remove the reservoir.
Disconnect the fan control module.
Mark the position of the clamp and then disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses.
Mark the position of the clamps and disconnect the transmission fluid cooler lines if equipped.
Remove the upper insulators.
Remove the radiator assembly.
Remove the cooling fan shroud assembly.
To Install:
Install the cooling fan shroud assembly.
Install the radiator assembly.
Install the upper insulators.
Connect the transmission fluid cooler lines if equipped. Install the clamps in their original locations.
Connect the upper and lower radiator hoses. Install the clamps in their original locations.
Connect the fan control module.
Install the reservoir.
Refill the cooling system.
