Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Disconnect the cable from the sensor.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
3. Remove the sensor from the bracket.

To Install:

1. Install the sensor on the bracket.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
3. Connect the cable to the sensor.
4. Perform the following to adjust the accelerator cable;
   • Turn off the A/C and all electrical loads
   • Run the engine to normal operating temperature.
   • Confirm the idle speed is 700 +/- 100 rpm on the 2.0L or 750 +/- 100 rpm on the 2.4L engine.
   • Make sure there are no sharp bends in the cable.
   • Verify there is 0.04-0.08 in (1.0-2.0 mm) of slack in the cable. Adjust the cable near the throttle lever if not within specifications.
