For a number of reasons, exhaust system work can be dangerous. Always observe
the following precautions:
- Support the vehicle securely by using jackstands, or equivalent, under the
frame of the vehicle.
- Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from metal chips that may fly free
while working on the exhaust system.
- When using a torch, be careful not to come close to any fuel lines.
- Always use the proper tool for the job.
- NEVER WORK ON A HOT EXHAUST SYSTEM!!
