Remove the combination meter/instrument cluster from the dashboard. Refer
to the procedure later in this section for removal and installation instructions.
Connect an ohmmeter (resistance X 1 ohm range) between reed switch (+) terminal
1 and GND terminal 10 on the printed circuit board of the combination meter,
then turn the speedometer cable shaft slowly, using a thin rod or similar
tool.
It is normal if continuity and discontinuity between terminals alternate
four times for every revolution of the shaft. If it does not do this, replace
the speedometer assembly.
