REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. For Monteros with an optional third seat, remove the third seat.
3. Remove the right-hand, rear, lower quarter trim to gain access to the ECU.
4. Remove the large bracket by removing the four mounting screws.
5. Remove the two mounting screws for the smaller bracket. Remove the ECU and small bracket from the large bracket.

6. Unplug the wiring harness connector from the ECU. Remove the two ECU mounting bolts from the small bracket.
7. To install, mount the ECU to the small bracket with the two mounting screws.
8. Plug the wiring harness connector back into the ECU.
9. Affix the small bracket to the large bracket with the two mounting bolts. Mount the entire bracket/ECU assembly to the inner fender with the four mounting bolts.
10. Install the lower quarter trim. Install the third seat, if removed.
11. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
