Interior Trim Panels

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

The interior trim panels in Mitsubishi Pick-ups and Monteros are held in place with retaining screws and retaining clips. To remove the retaining clips follow this procedure:

  1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to push the pin (at the center of the trim clip) inward to a depth of about 0.08 in. (2mm).

  2. Pull the trim clip outward to remove it.

    WARNING
Do not push the pin inward more than necessary because it may damage the grommet, or the pin may fall in, if pushed too far.

When removing a panel, remove any overlapping trim pieces, then remove the trim panel itself. For trim panels which house electrical components, remove slowly to avoid ripping any wires out of their components. Disconnect any wires or tubes from behind the trim panel, then remove the panel from the vehicle.
