Inspection Procedure 17: AS&G OFF Display Screen is Not Turned ON Right After The Ignition Switch is Turned to The ON Position
 
 
 
 
FUNCTION
The engine-ECU sends the signal to the combination meter through the CAN, corresponding to the state of the AS&G system. When receiving the signal, the combination meter turns ON or blinks the AS&G display screen or AS&G OFF display screen.
 
 
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
The failure could possibly be caused by the failed combination meter, failed engine-ECU and so on.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Failed combination meter
  • Failed engine-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the trouble symptom.
Does the trouble symptom persist?
Go to Step 2.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
 
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE data list

Is the check result normal?
Check combination meter system (Refer to GROUP 54A - Combination Meter - Trouble Symptom Chart ).
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. Check the trouble symptom
Does the trouble symptom persist?
Replace the engine-ECU.
