Inspection Procedure 6: The Engine Stalls when Starting the Car (pass out), The Engine Stalls when Decelerating
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
- Failure is possibly caused by misfire due to failed spark plug, improper air-fuel ratio at accelerator pedal depression and so on when engine stalls at acceleration.
- Failure is possibly caused by an insufficient amount of intake air and so on when engine stalls at deceleration.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Failed ignition system
- Failed intake air system
- Contamination around the throttle valve
- Improper compression pressure
- Failed engine-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE data list
STEP 3. Check air intake from intake hose and inlet manifold.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair.
STEP 4. Check throttle body (throttle valve portion) contamination.
STEP 5. Visual check of ignition spark.
STEP 6. Check compression pressure.
