Code No. P0192: Fuel Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Input

OPERATION
  • A power voltage of 5 V is applied to the fuel pressure sensor power terminal from the engine-ECU connector terminal HFP5 and earthed to the engine-ECU connector terminal HFPG from the fuel pressure sensor earth terminal.
  • The sensor signal is inputted to the engine-ECU connector terminal HFPS from the fuel pressure sensor output terminal.

FUNCTION
  • The fuel pressure sensor detects a change in fuel pressure and inputs the signal to the engine-ECU.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
Check Conditions
  • Ignition switch is "ON" position.
  • Battery positive voltage is more than 6 V.
Judgement Criterion
  • Normality determination voltage of fuel pressure sensor is less than 0.2 V for 2 seconds.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION
  • While prohibiting the operation of the injector (high pressure), carry out the control by the injector operation only.
  • Torque is restricted.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Failed fuel pressure sensor
  • Short circuit in fuel pressure sensor circuit or loose connector contact
  • Failed engine-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE data list
  • Data list reference table (Refer to ).
    1. Item 124: Fuel pressure sensor (Absolute)
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Perform voltage measurement at fuel pressure sensor connector.
  • Disconnect connector, and measure at harness side.
  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Voltage between terminal engine-ECU HFP5 line and body earth.
OK: 4.9 - 5.1 V
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check of short to earth in HFP5 line between fuel pressure sensor connector and engine-ECU connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. M.U.T.-IIISE data list
