Code No. C1747: Shift signal undetermined

caution
  • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
  • When the ACC/FCM-ECU is replaced, calibrate the radar (refer to ).

OPERATION
ACC/FCM-ECU communicates with the inhibitor switch signal via the CAN bus lines.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITION
Check Conditions
  • More than 2 seconds have passed since the ignition switch was turned to "ON" position.
  • ACC/FCM-ECU power voltage is more than 9 V and is less than 18 V.
Judgement Criterion
  • The ECU receives an invalid inhibitor switch signal from the CVT-ECU.
noteA diagnosis code is not set as a historic fault.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Defective CVT system (Transmission control system)
  • Malfunction of the ACC/FCM-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE other system diagnosis code.
Check the CVT diagnosis code (Refer to GROUP 23A -Troubleshooting ).
Is the diagnosis code set?
Perform the relevant troubleshooting (Refer to GROUP 23A -Troubleshooting ).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE other system data list.
Check the CVT-ECU data list (Refer to GROUP 23A - Data List Reference Table ).
  • Ignition switch: ON
  • Engine: Stopped
  • Operate the selector lever

Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Proceed to the diagnosis code procedure "P0705". (Refer to GROUP 23A -Troubleshooting ).

STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Is the diagnosis code No.C1747 set?
Replace the ACC/FCM-ECU (Refer to ).
It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
