| caution | - If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
- Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
CVT-ECU checks that the coding information is normal.
JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
When the CVT-ECU cannot receive "programmed" signal within three seconds after the CVT-ECU is activated.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of CAN bus line
- Variant coding for ETACS-ECU has not been implemented.
- Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
- Malfunction of CVT-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE CAN bus diagnostics
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
Check if the ETACS-related diagnosis code is set.Is the ETACS-related diagnosis code set?
Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Go to Step 3.
STEP 3. ETACS-ECU coding data check
Use M.U.T.-IIISE to check if coding data stored in ETACS-ECU is normal.Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4. Replace the ETACS-ECU.
STEP 4. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnosis code
(1) Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(2) Check if the diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace CVT-ECU. Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction 
).
