STEP 1. Measure the voltage at the CVT-ECU connector (PRPS terminal).
(1) Drive the vehicle until the engine is warmed up.
(2) Measure the CVT-ECU connector side by backprobing.
(3) Selector lever position: N
(4) Engine: Idling
(5) Measure the voltage between the CVT-ECU connector (terminal PRPS) and the body earth.
Does the voltage measure approximately 0.09 V or less?
Go to Step 2.
Go to Step 7.
STEP 2. Measure the voltage at the CVT assembly connector (SSPW terminal).
(1) Disconnect the connector and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
(3) Measure the voltage between the CVT assembly connector (terminal SSPW) and body earth.OK: Approximately 5 V
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.NO : Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness (SSPW line between the CVT assembly connector and the CVT-ECU connector).
STEP 3. Check the PRPS line between the CVT assembly connector and the CVT-ECU connector for open circuit or short to earth.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 4. Check the SGND line between the CVT assembly connector and the CVT-ECU connector for open circuit.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 5. Check the signal lines (primary pressure sensor lines) between the CVT assembly connector and the valve body wiring harness connector for open circuit or short to earth.
STEP 6. Check the power supply lines (sensor power supply lines) between the CVT assembly connector and the valve body wiring harness connector for open circuit or short to earth.
STEP 7. Measure the voltage at the CVT-ECU connector (PRPS terminal).
(1) Drive the vehicle until the engine is warmed up.
(2) Measure the CVT-ECU connector side by backprobing.
(3) Selector lever position: N
(4) Engine: Idling
(5) Measure the voltage between the CVT-ECU connector (terminal PRPS) and the body earth.OK: Approx. 0.90 - 0.92 V
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 8.
Replace the valve body assembly (Refer to
).
STEP 8. Erase the diagnosis code, and then check whether the symptom occurs again.
