Code No.U1428: G and Yaw Rate Sensor Data Malfunction
 
 
caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
  • Do not drop the G and yaw rate sensor or subject it to a shock.
  • When G and yaw rate sensor is replaced, calibrate G and yaw rate sensor (Refer to GROUP 35C - On-vehicle Service).
 
 
OPERATION
AWC-ECU communicates with ASC-ECU via the CAN bus lines.
 
 
DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS
The code is set when abnormality is detected in the G and yaw rate sensor signal received from the ASC-ECU.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the CAN bus line
  • Malfunction of G and yaw rate sensor
  • Malfunction of ASC-ECU
  • Malfunction of AWC-ECU

 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE CAN bus diagnostics.
Use M.U.T.-IIISE to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
 
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE other system diagnosis code.
Check the ASC diagnosis code (Refer to GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting ).
Is the diagnosis code set?
Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code.
Check if AWC diagnosis code No.C123C, C1242 is set (Refer to ).
Is the check result normal?
Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
Go to Step 4.
 
STEP 4. M.U.T.-IIISE data list.
Check the data list below (Refer to ).
  • Item No.39: Yaw rate
  • Item No.40: Lateral G
  • Item No.41: Longitudinal G
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the hydraulic unit (incorporating G and yaw rate sensor) (Refer to GROUP 35C - Hydraulic Unit ).
 
STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Is diagnosis code No.U1428 set?
Replace the AWC-ECU (Refer to ).
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
