37 -ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) > TROUBLESHOOTING > DIAGNOSIS CODE PROCEDURES > C1219 STEERING ANGLE SENSOR SIGNAL
Code No.C1219 Steering angle sensor signal
| caution | - If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table
). - Whenever ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
|
OPERATION
EPS-ECU receives steering angle information from the steering wheel sensor.
FUNCTION
Based on the steering angle sensor information the EPS-ECU receives when the ignition switch is in the ON position, the EPS-ECU learns the neutral position of the steering wheel and performs the control to improve the steering wheel return.
TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
Check Conditions
- The power supply circuit system diagnosis code (No. C1540, C1541) is not set.
Judgement Criterion
- When an abnormal steering angle information is received from the steering wheel sensor.
Fail Safe, Back Up Function
- The EPS-ECU sets diagnosis code No. C1219.
- Aggravated feeling of steerage
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of the steering wheel sensor
- Malfunction of the EPS-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
1. Check the service data "Item No. 22: Steering wheel angle, Item No. 23: Steering wheel angular velocity" and If there is an abnormality, perform troubleshooting for steering wheel sensor (Refer to GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting
). 2. Replace the EPS-ECU (Refer to
).
