Inspection Procedure 12: Keyless operation buzzer does not sound.
 
 
cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
 
 
OPERATION
The keyless operation buzzer sounds under the following conditions.
  • Door lock does not operate.
  • The keyless operation key is brought out of the vehicle.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the keyless operation buzzer
  • Malfunction of the KOS&OSS-ECU
  • Malfunction of the connector
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE diagnosis code
Check if any diagnosis code is set in the KOS&OSS-ECU.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Refer to diagnosis code chart .
Go to Step 2.
 
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE other system diagnosis code
Check if any diagnosis code is set in the ETACS-ECU.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Perform troubleshooting for the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS - Troubleshooting ).
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. M.U.T.-IIISE actuator test
Check that the keyless operation buzzer sounds (Refer to ).
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 7.
Go to Step 4.
 
STEP 4. Resistance measurement at keyless operation buzzer connector (earth line)
(1) Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Measure the resistance between the keyless operation buzzer connector (earth line) and body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 6.
Go to Step 5.
 
STEP 5. Check of open circuit in earth line between the keyless operation buzzer connector and the body earth.
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 6. Check of short to power supply, short to earth or open circuit in DRVB line between the keyless operation buzzer connector and the KOS&OSS-ECU connector terminal.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 7.
Repair the wiring harness.
 
STEP 7. Check of the troubles
Replace keyless operation buzzer. After the replacement, check that the keyless operation buzzer sounds when the keyless operation buzzer sounding conditions are met.
Is the check result normal?
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace KOS&OSS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
