If an open or short to earth circuit is detected in the keyless operation antenna (Rear: Inner side), the diagnosis code is set.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
An open circuit or short to earth is detected consecutively five times when radio waves are sent from the keyless operation antenna (Rear: Inner side).

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the keyless operation antenna (Rear: Inner side)
  • Malfunction of the KOS&OSS-ECU
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check of short to earth or open circuit in INRP, INRG line between the keyless operation antenna (Rear: Inner side) connector and the KOS&OSS-ECU connector
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 2. Keyless operation system communication test
Check that the communication with the keyless operation antenna (Rear: Inner side) is normal (Refer to Antenna Communication Test ).
  • Rear antenna(indoor)
OK: Normal is displayed.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the keyless operation antenna (Rear: Inner side) (Refer to ).

STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Engine switch: "OFF"
(3) Perform power supply mode switching operation several times.
(4) Check if the diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace KOS&OSS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
