STEP 1. Voltage measurement at the combination meter connector
(1) Disconnect the combination meter connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Turn the ignition switch from LOCK (OFF) position to ON position.
(3) Check the voltage between the combination meter connector terminal BWLP and body earth.OK: System voltage
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Voltage measurement at the hazard warning lamp switch connector
(1) Disconnect the hazard warning lamp switch connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Turn the ignition switch from LOCK (OFF) position to ON position.
(3) Check the voltage between the hazard warning lamp switch connector terminal IG+ and body earth.OK: System voltage
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness of short, open to power supply circuit in between the hazard warning lamp switch connector and ETACS-ECU connector.
STEP 3. Check of short, open circuit in BWLP line between the combination meter connector and the hazard warning lamp switch connector.
STEP 4. Check the front seat belt switch (passenger’s side).
STEP 5. Resistance measurement at the front seat belt switch (passenger’s side) connector
(1) Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2) Measure the resistance between the seat belt switch (passenger’s side) connector (earth terminal) and the body earth.OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 7.
Go to Step 6.
STEP 6. Check of short, open circuit in body earth line between front seat belt switch (passenger’s side) connector and the body earth.
Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 7. Check of short, open to power supply circuit in SBAS line between combination meter connector and seat belt switch (passenger’s side) connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 8.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 8. Retest the system.
