Code No.B2352 Antenna fail

cautionWhen replacing the ECU, always check that the communication circuit is normal.

DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION
ETACS-ECU sets diagnosis code No. B2352 when open or short circuit to the earth in the antenna at the key reminder switch is detected.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
When during the transponder communication, the antenna at the key reminder switch (immobilizer antenna) malfunction is found, ETACS-ECU determines that the abnormality is present.

PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of key reminder switch (open circuit of immobilizer antenna)
  • Damaged wiring harness and connectors
  • Malfunction of receiver antenna
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE data list
Check the ETACS-ECU service data.
  • Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" (key inserted) position.

Item No.Item nameNormal condition

OK: Normal condition is displayed.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Refer to GROUP 54A - Inspection Procedure 3: "Key reminder switch signal is not received ."

STEP 2. Resistance measurement at the receiver antenna connector (ANTP, ANTG terminal).
(1) Disconnect the connector and measure the resistance at the wiring harness side.
(2) Measure the resistance between the receiver antenna connector (ANTP terminal) and the receiver antenna connector (ANTG terminal).
OK: Continuity exists (14 Ω or less)
(3) Measure the resistance between the receiver antenna connector (ANTP terminal) and the body earth.
OK: No continuity
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check of open circuit and short to earth, in ANTP, ANTG terminal between receiver antenna connector and key reminder switch connector.
Is the check result normal?
Replace key reminder switch (Immobilizer antenna).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Remove the ignition key from the cylinder and then insert the ignition key again.
(3) After 2 to 3 seconds later from inserting the key, then turn the ignition "ON".
(4) Check if the diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace receiver antenna. Then go to Step 5.
There is an intermittent malfunction such as poor engaged connector(s) or open circuit (Refer to GROUP 00, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Recheck if the diagnosis code is set.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Remove the ignition key from the cylinder and then insert the ignition key again.
(3) After 2 to 3 seconds later from inserting the key, then turn the ignition ON.
(4) Check if the diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace ETACS-ECU (Refer to ) and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
The diagnosis is complete.
