Inspection Procedure 6: Voice guide "Unable to obtain vehicle speed. Please try again or contact your dealer for service" is sent from the speaker.
 
 
cautionBefore replacing the hands free-ECU or radio and CD player, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the voice guide "Unable to obtain vehicle speed. Please try again or contact your dealer for service" is sent from the speaker, the vehicle speed signal of hands free-ECU has a problem. At this time, the hands free-ECU, and the vehicle speed signal of radio and CD player <vehicles with radio and CD player> or the multivision display <vehicles with MMCS> may have a problem.
 
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the hands free-ECU
  • Malfunction of the radio and CD player <Vehicles with radio and CD player>
  • Malfunction of the multivision display <Vehicles with MMCS>
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
 
 
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the radio and CD player <vehicles with radio and CD player> or the multivision display <vehicles with MMCS> operation.
Check if the radio and CD player <vehicles with radio and CD player> or the multivision display <vehicles with MMCS> work normally and the sound is output.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2
Troubleshoot the radio and CD player or multivision display. (Refer to <vehicles with radio and CD player> or <vehicles with MMCS>)
 
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE CAN bus diagnostics.
Use the M.U.T.-IIISE to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
 
STEP 3. M.U.T.-IIISE other system diagnosis code.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the radio and CD player <vehicles with radio and CD player> or the multivision display <vehicles with MMCS>.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Troubleshoot the radio and CD player or multivision display. (Refer to <vehicles with radio and CD player> or <vehicles with MMCS>)
Go to Step 4.
 
STEP 4. Check the diagnosis mode
Check if the hands free-ECU can be switched to the diagnosis mode. (Refer to <vehicles with 1CD audio>, <vehicles with display audio> or <vehicles with MMCS>)
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Perform Inspection Procedure 5: "DIAGNOSIS MODE cannot be made an entry." (Refer to .)
 
STEP 5. Replace the hands free-ECU temporarily, and check the trouble symptom.
Is the check result normal?
Replace the hands free-ECU.
Replace the radio and CD player <vehicles with radio and CD player> or the multivision display <vehicles with MMCS>.
