cautionBefore replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.
 
 
OPERATION
The BSW-ECU (master) energises and controls the blind spot warning lamp (LH), which is integrated in the door mirror assembly.
 
 
CHECK CONDITION
When all of the conditions below are satisfied:
  • Ignition switch is in the "ON" position.
  • BSW-ECU (master) system voltage is at 9 - 16 V.
 
 
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION AND JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
The BSW-ECU (master) will set diagnosis code No.C2323 when all of the following conditions are satisfied:
  • The blind spot warning lamp (LH) is energised
  • BSW-ECU (master) terminal AN1 voltage measures less than 1 V
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the blind spot warning lamp within the door mirror assembly (LH)
  • Malfunction of the BSW-ECU (master)
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check of short to earth in AN1 line between BSW-ECU (master) connector and door mirror assembly (LH) (incorporating blind spot warning lamp) connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. (Replace the harness assembly because the aluminium harness cannot be repaired.)
 
STEP 2. Check the blind spot warning lamp (LH).
Refer to GROUP 51 - Door Mirror Inspection .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the door mirror main harness (LH) or replace the mirror (LH).
 
STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the BSW-ECU (master).
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(3) Check if the diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the BSW-ECU (master).
Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
