REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Clean all mounting and adjustment bolts and apply penetrating oil.
  2. Loosen the components adjusting and mounting bolts.
  3. Move the component toward or away from the engine until there is enough slack in the belt to slip it over the pulley.

    To install:

  4. Replace the worn or broken belt.
  5. Temporarily snug the adjusting bolt and check belt deflection.

    NOTE: Replace the belt if cracked or defective in any way.

  6. If belt tension is OK, tighten the alternator mounting and adjusting bolts.
