The ballast resistor is mounted on the coil bracket above the ignition coil.
- With the ignition switch OFF, connect an ohmmeter between the
terminals of the resistor.
- Obtain a reading from the ohmmeter and compare it with the specs on the
Troubleshooting Electronic Ignition chart in this section.
- If the reading on the ohmmeter is zero or not within specs, replace the
resistor.
