REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Fig. 1: Remove the spare tire from the vehicle

Fig. 2: Disengage the electrical connections

  1. Remove the spare tire from the engine compartment.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
  3. Disconnect the wiring harness at the starter, which is located on top of the transaxle at the rear of the engine.

    Fig. 4: . . . then remove the starter from the vehicle

  4. Remove the two bolts which secure the starter to the transaxle and pull the starter out.

    To install:

  5. Install the starter and fasten the retaining bolts.
  6. Connect the wiring harness at the starter.
  7. Connect the negative battery terminal and install the spare tire in the engine compartment.
