WARNING
When installing a replacement speaker, always use a speaker of the same impedance
as the 1 removed. Failure to use the correct speaker will cause damage to
the radio.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- On some models remove the dash panel speaker grille retainer screws. Lift
the grille off and place aside.
- On some models, remove the dash lower trim panel, if removing the driver
side dash speaker. Remove the glove box if removing the passenger side dash
speaker.
- Loosen and remove the speaker retainer screws. Lift the speaker out enough
to access the wire harness at the back of the speaker.
- Disconnect the speaker harness from the rear of the speaker.
- Installation is the reverse of removal.
- Test the radio to make sure all speakers function correctly.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the door panel assembly.
- Disconnect the speaker harness located between the door panel and inner
door metal.
- Loosen and remove the speaker retainer screws. Lift the speaker out.
- Installation is the reverse of removal.
- Test the radio to make sure all speaker function correctly.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the door panel assembly.
- Remove the tweeter assembly from the front corner of the window assembly
by unfastening the retainer screw at the base of the tweeter. Lift the speaker
out enough to access to wire harness.
- Disconnect the harness at the back side of the tweeter.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Secure all wiring and components.
- Test the radio to make sure all speakers function correctly.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Use a small prytool to remove the tweeter from the dash panel. Be careful
not to damage the dash panel surface.
- Disconnect the harness at the back side of the tweeter.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Secure all wiring and components.
- Test the radio to make sure all speakers function correctly.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- On Justy models, remove the speaker grille retainer screws. Lift the grille
off and place aside.
- On all other models, remove the rear door panel on 4-door sedan and wagon
models. Unfasten the rear speaker grille retainer screws on all other models,
and remove the grille assembly.
- Loosen and remove the speaker retainer screws securing the speaker to
the door or rear deck, depending on model. Lift the speaker out enough to
access the wire harness at the rear of the assembly.
- Disconnect the speaker harness.
- Remove the speaker.
- Installation is the reverse of removal.
- Test the radio to make sure all speakers function correctly.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- On Wagon and Hatchback models, remove the luggage cover and holder assembly.
Fold the backrest forward.
- On Sedan models, remove the rear seat cushion and backrest assembly.
- On Wagon and Hatchback models, remove the speaker cover retainer nuts
and screws securing the cover in place over the speaker assembly.
- On Sedan models, remove the rear right and left quarter trim panels, followed
by the rear shelf assembly.
- Loosen and remove the speaker retainer screws securing the speaker in
place. Lift the speaker out enough to access the wire harness at the rear
of the assembly.
- Disconnect the speaker harness.
- Remove the speaker.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Secure all components and wiring.
- Test the radio to make sure all speakers function correctly.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the rear seat cushion and backrest assembly.
- Remove the rear right and left quarter trim panels, followed by the rear
shelf assembly.
- Loosen and remove the speaker retainer screws securing the speaker in
place. Lift the speaker out enough to access the wire harness at the rear
of the assembly.
- Disconnect the speaker harness.
- Remove the speaker.
- Installation is the reverse of removal.
- Test the radio to make sure all speakers function correctly.
