Legacy and Impreza

1. Turn the engine OFF.
2. Disconnect the vacuum line from the brake booster.
3. Loosen the operating rod locknut and adjust the rod until there is 0.04–0.12 in. (1–3mm) of play in the brake pedal.
4. Tighten the locknut.
