- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning
of this section.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Engine from the vehicle
- Clutch assembly/flywheel, if equipped with manual transmission
- Torque converter flexplate from the crankshaft, if equipped with an
automatic transmission
- Using a seal removal tool, pry the oil seal from the housing.
To install:
- Utilizing the appropriate seal installer
- Install or connect the following:
- New oil seal and press it into the housing using the appropriate driver
- Clutch assembly/flywheel, if equipped
- Flywheel/flexplate and tighten the bolts to 53 ft. lbs. (72 Nm), if
equipped
- Engine into the vehicle
