To Remove:
WARNING
Be careful not to spill fuel on the floor. During work procedures, if fuel tank is more than 3/4 full, be careful because fuel may spill.
Note: Fuel pump assembly consists of fuel pump and fuel level sensor.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
- Release fuel pressure.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Fuel cap
- Battery ground cable
- Safely raise and support the vehicle
- To drain fuel from fuel tank, set a container under the vehicle and remove drain plug from fuel tank.
- Tighten fuel drain plug.
- Torque to: 19 ft. lbs. (26 Nm)
- Raise rear seat and turn floor mat up
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Access hole lid
- Connector from fuel pump
- Quick connector’s
- Fuel delivery hose, jet pump hose, and return hose
- Fuel pump assembly to fuel tank nuts
- Fuel pump assembly from fuel tank
To Install:
Note: Always use new gaskets. Ensure sealing portion is free from fuel or foreign particles before installation.
- Install or connect the following:
- Fuel pump assembly to fuel tank and tighten in sequence
- Torque to: 3.3 ft. lbs. (4.4 Nm)
- Fuel delivery hose and return hose
- Quick connector’s
- Jet pump hose
- Connector to fuel pump
- Access hole lid and turn floor mat and rear seat down
- Fuel pump relay connector
- Battery negative connector
- Fuel cap
