Throttle Body

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Battery ground cable
   • Air cleaner case (SOHC Engines)
   • Intercooler (Turbo models)

   • Accelerator cable (1)
   • Cruise control cable (2) (with cruise control model)

   • Connectors from idle air control solenoid valve, throttle position sensor and pressure sensor
   • Air by-pass hose from throttle body (SOHC Engines)
   • Engine coolant hoses (1) from throttle body

   • Throttle body to intake manifold installation bolts (2)

To Install:

Note: Always use a new gasket.

1. Install or connect the following:
   • Throttle body to intake manifold installation bolts
     1. 2.0L DOHC and 2.5L SOHC - Torque to: 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm)
     2. 2.5L DOHC - Torque to: 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm)

   • Engine coolant hoses from throttle body
   • Air by-pass hose to throttle body (SOHC Engines)
   • Connectors to idle air control solenoid valve, throttle position sensor and pressure sensor

   • Cruise control cable (with cruise control model)
   • Accelerator cable
   • Intercooler (Turbo models)
   • Air cleaner case (SOHC Engines)
   • Battery ground cable
