WARNING
Fuel system is under pressure! Before opening, place clean cloths around the connections to be opened. Carefully loosen the connections to relieve pressure.
Because of weight and safety considerations make sure that the fuel tank is empty before removing it
To Remove:
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
- Set the vehicle on a lift.
- Release the fuel pressure.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Fuel from the fuel tank
- Rear seat
- Connector of fuel tank cord to the rear harness
- Push the grommet which holds the fuel tank cord on the floor panel into under the body.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Rear crossmember
- Evaporation hose from the canister
- Pressure control solenoid valve connector
- Drain valve connector
- Fuel filler hose and evaporation hose from the fuel filler pipe
- Quick connector
- Fuel hoses
- Support the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
- With an assistant, remove the bolts and the fuel tank from the vehicle.
To Install:
- Support the fuel tank with transmission jack.
- Install the fuel tank harness into the access hole with grommet.
- With an assistant, install the fuel tank and temporarily tighten the bolts of fuel tank bands.
