Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Rear seat cushion and back rest (Sedan model)
   • Strut cap of quarter trim (Wagon model)
3. Safely raise and support the vehicle.
4. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Rear wheels

   • Brake hose clip and brake hose
   • Strut to housing bolts
   • Strut mount to body nuts

To Install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   • Shock absorber to vehicle body nut
     1. Torque to: 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm)

   CAUTION
   Use new self-locking nuts throughout.

   • Rear strut to housing bolts
     1. Torque to: 148 ft. lbs. (200 Nm)
   • Brake hose to lower side of strut
   • Wheels Lower vehicle. Install or connect the following:
   • Rear seat back rest and seat cushion (Sedan model)
   • Strut cap to rear quarter trim (Wagon model)
   • Floor mat (Wagon model)
2. Check wheel alignment and adjust if necessary.
