Hydraulic brake systems use two distinct and incompatible fluids. Power steering fluid is often used in the hydraulic brake booster system. Brake fluid is used in the master cylinder and brake pipes. Use extreme care when selecting brake system fluids, or seal damage can result.

Brake fluid may have detrimental effects on paint and electrical components.
CAUTION
All new master cylinders should be bench bled prior to installation. Bleeding a new master cylinder on the vehicle is not a good idea. With air trapped inside, the master cylinder piston may bottom in the bore and possibly cause internal damage.
