To Remove:
WARNING
Place "NO FIRE" signs near the working area. Be careful not to spill fuel on the floor.
During work procedures, if fuel tank is more than 3/4 full, be careful because fuel may spill.
NOTE: Fuel pump assembly consists of fuel pump and fuel level sensor.
- Release fuel pressure
- Remove front side fuel tank cover
- To drain fuel from fuel tank, set a container under the vehicle and remove drain plug from fuel tank
- Tighten fuel drain plug and install front right side fuel tank cover
- Torque specification: 26 N.m (19.2 ft-lb)
- Raise rear seat and turn floor mat up
- Remove or disconnect the following
- Access hole lid
- Connector from fuel pump
- Jet pump hose clips
- Jet pump hose
- Quick connector’s
- Fuel delivery hose and return hose
- Fuel pump assembly to fuel tank nuts
- Fuel pump assembly from fuel tank
To Install:
NOTE: Always use new gaskets. Ensure sealing portion is free from fuel or foreign particles before installation.
- Install or connect the following
- Fuel pump assembly to fuel tank
- Fuel pump assembly to fuel tank nuts
- Torque specification: tighten nuts in alphabetical sequence shown in the figure 5.9 N.m (4.3 ft-lb)
- Fuel delivery hose and return hose
- Quick connector’s
- Jet pump hose
- Jet pump hose clips
- Connector to fuel pump
- Access hole lid and turn floor mat and rear seat down
- Fuel pump relay connector
- Battery negative connector
