Engine Basic Inspection

This check is very important for troubleshooting when ECM has detected no DTC and no abnormality has been found in Visual Inspection:D16AA.

Follow the flow carefully.

1	Was “Engine and Emission Control System Check” performed?	Go to Step 2.	Go to Engine and Emission Control System Check:D16AA.
2	Check battery voltage Is it 11 V or more?	Go to Step 3.	Charge or replace battery.
3	Can engine be cranked?	Go to Step 4.	Go to Cranking System Symptom Diagnosis:D16AA.
4	Does engine start?	Go to Engine Symptom Diagnosis:D16AA.	Go to Step 5.
5	Immobilizer system check Refer to “Immobilizer Control System Check” in Section 10C. •Ignition switch model: •Keyless push start model: Is check result OK?	Go to Step 6.	Repair or replace defective part(s).
6	Low fuel pressure circuit check 1)Check low fuel pressure circuit. Is check result OK?	Go to Step 7.	Repair or replace defective part(s).
7	High fuel pressure circuit check 1)Check high fuel pressure circuit. Is check result OK?	Go to “Hard Starting (Engine Can Be Cranked)” under Engine Symptom Diagnosis:D16AA.	Repair or replace defective part(s).
