EGT Sensor Removal and Installation

Precautions: General safety (00)

EGT Sensor-1

Removal

1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

2)Remove engine cover.

3)Disconnect connector from EGT sensor-1 (1) as follows.

a)Move connector lock pin (2) in arrow direction as shown in figure.

b)Push connector lock pin and disconnect connector (3) from EGT sensor-1.

4)Remove EGT sensor-1 from DPF^®.

Installation

Reference: EGT Sensor Inspection:D16AA

Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.

•Install EGT sensor-1 (1) to DPF^®. Align protrusion (2) of EGT sensor-1 with groove (3) of DPF^®.
•Tighten EGT sensor-1 to specified torque.

Tightening torque

EGT sensor-1 (a): 45 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.5 lbf-ft)

EGT Sensor-2

Removal

1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

2)Hoist vehicle and remove engine undercover.

3)Disconnect connector from EGT sensor-2 (1).

4)Remove EGT sensor-2 from DPF^®.

Installation

Reference: EGT Sensor Inspection:D16AA

Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.

•Install EGT sensor-2 (1) to DPF^®. Align protrusion (2) of EGT sensor-2 with groove (3) of DPF^®.
•Tighten EGT sensor-2 to specified torque.

Tightening torque

EGT sensor-2 (a): 45 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.5 lbf-ft)

EGT Sensor-3

Removal

1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

2)Hoist vehicle and remove engine undercover.

3)Disconnect connector (2) from EGT sensor-3.

4)Remove EGT sensor-3 (1) from DPF^®.

Installation

Reference: EGT Sensor Inspection:D16AA

Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.

•Install EGT sensor-3 (1) to DPF^®. Align protrusion (2) of EGT sensor-3 with groove (3) of DPF^®.
•Tighten EGT sensor-3 to specified torque.

Tightening torque

EGT sensor-3 (a): 45 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.5 lbf-ft)

EGT Sensor-4

Removal

1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

2)Hoist vehicle and remove engine undercover.

3)Disconnect connector from EGT sensor-4.

4)Remove EGT sensor-4 (1) from EGR cooler.

Installation

Reference: EGT Sensor Inspection:D16AA

Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.

•Install EGT sensor-4 (1) to EGR cooler. Align protrusion (2) of EGT sensor-4 with groove (3) of EGR cooler.
•Tighten EGT sensor-4 to specified torque.

Tightening torque

EGT sensor-4 (a): 45 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.5 lbf-ft)
