DPF® After-Sales Regeneration

Precautions: General safety (00)

CAUTION:
Exhaust gas temperature from the muffler tail pipe becomes higher excessively (approx. 600 °C / 1112 °F) when after-sales regeneration is in operation. Failure to take proper precautions may result in a fire and personal injury.
Take the following precautions to reduce the risk of a fire and injury.
•Locate the vehicle in a well- ventilated outdoor area.
•Do not allow a person to come near the muffler tail pipe.
•Do not leave obstruction or inflammable material in the vicinity of exhaust system components.
NOTICE:
•Stopping after-sales regeneration before it is completed may damage the DPF® due to thermal shock.
When after-sales regeneration is in operation, do not cancel the process through to the end without interruption.
•Turning the ignition “OFF” right after the after-sales regeneration may damage the DPF® due to thermal shock.
Keep the engine idling for 5 minutes to allow the DPF® to cool down.
NOTE:
•For details of SUZUKI scan tool, refer to its Operator’s Manual.
•Under any of the following conditions, after-sales regeneration is canceled.
—DTC other than P1206 is detected.
—ECT is below 70 °C (158 °F).
—Vehicle speed signal is inputted.
—Brake pedal is depressed.
—Accelerator pedal is depressed.
—Clutch pedal is depressed.
—Ignition is “OFF”.
1)Check engine oil level. icon
If oil level is not as specified, adjust oil level referring to Engine Oil and Filter Change:D16AA.

11)After-sales regeneration is automatically performed as follows:
a)Phase 1: Check of DPF® differential pressure
Engine speed is raised to approx. 2,000 rpm.
NOTE:
If DPF® differential pressure is out of allowable range, “Error Retrieving” is displayed on SUZUKI scan tool.
Repair this faulty condition referring to “After-Sales Regeneration Failure”.
b)Phase 2: After-sales regeneration
Engine speed is raised to approx. 3,000 rpm and regeneration is started.
NOTE:
Phase 2 will last for 5 to 15 minutes.
This period depends on soot deposit in DPF®.
c)Phase 3: End of regeneration
Engine speed decreases to idle speed.
Result of after-sales regeneration is displayed on SUZUKI scan tool in approx. 30 seconds.
12)Check that display of SUZUKI scan tool shows “Regeneration is completed successfully.”.
