Intake Manifold Vacuum Check
Precautions: General safety (00)
1)Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2)For M/T model, place gear shift lever in “Neutral” and apply parking brake.
For A/T model, place select lever in “P” and apply parking brake.
For A/T model, place select lever in “P” and apply parking brake.
3)Stop engine and turn off all electric switches.
4)Remove engine cover. 
5)Disconnect air bypass valve control hose No.4 (1) from check valve (2).
6)Connect special tool to air bypass valve control hose No.4 (1).
7)Close check valve using tape or the like.
8)Run engine at specified idle speed.
9)Read vacuum gauge. Negative pressure should be within specification.
Negative pressure specification (at sea level)
–73 to –59 kPa (–0.7 to –0.6 kgf/cm2, –10.58 to –8.55 psi, –0.73 to –0.59 bar) at specified idle speed
10)Disconnect special tool from air bypass valve control hose No.4.
11)Pull off tape from check valve.
12)Connect air bypass valve control hose No.4 to check valve.
13)Install engine cover.
