Air Bypass Valve Inspection

Visual Inspection
Check that O-ring (1) is free from damage.
Operation Check
Check air bypass valve operation as follows. If faulty condition is found, replace air bypass valve.
NOTICE:
Failure to take the following precautions when applying negative pressure to air bypass valve may cause damage to it.
•Do not apply negative pressure more than –17 kPa (–0.2 kgf/cm2, –2.46 psi, –0.17 bar).
•Do not apply compressed air from port [a]. Blowing air by mouth from [a] would be enough for open / close check of the valve.
•Do not apply compressed air from port [a]. Blowing air by mouth from [a] would be enough for open / close check of the valve.
1)Check air bypass valve (1) is closed between [a] and [b] without applying negative pressure.
2)Connect special tool (A) to air bypass valve.
3)Apply specified negative pressure of –6.71 to –6.63 kPa (–0.0671 to –0.0663 kgf/cm2, –0.973 to –0.961 psi, –0.0671 to –0.0663 bar) and check the passage from [a] to [b] opens.
